I am trying to create a following for my blog. I think being a stepmom is different from other types of moms...not better or worse, just different. I know that when I became an instant mom, I faced a lot of obsticles....the school that my kids attended tried to stop me from getting information because I wasn't the biological parent. I dealt with people saying things like "well, your not really a mom". But the most difficult thing was deciding if I should call my kids, just my kids or my step kids. On one hand, I didn't want them to feel like I didn't want them, and on the other, I didn't want them to think I was trying to take the place of their mother. If you've dealt with similar things or have suggestions on how to make the transition easier, I'd love to hear from you.
